Coaching

Coaching sessions involve an hour of time either in person or on the phone. The main goal is to teach you some new tools and provide support as you transform your life. For some this can happen in a few sessions; others find continuing on a regular basis helpful as they make positive changes.
One tool I use in my work is Radical Forgiveness. This method operates from the premise that our lives are a creative process and our thoughts, beliefs, assumptions, choices, actions and words are the mechanisms we use to invent our experiences and our circumstances. In order to own that our lives are an act of invention, we have to give up the idea that we are victims. We discover our capabilities in the process. This may not be an easy task for many of us however, simply put, remaining a victim costs you. Hopefully we will be able to alter your relationship with this role by inspiring you to the wonderful possibilities that exist for you by expanding beyond it.
In seeing ourselves as the active agent in the fulfillment of our dreams and desires, we have the ability to create circumstances and opportunities by setting clear intentions and committing to living in alignment with those intentions. When you amend your relationship with yourself, your external world will alter accordingly as metamorphosis happens from the inside out.
Transformation and closure happen simultaneously, this path takes courage and is not for the faint of heart. It is often advisable to enlist the assistance of a coach to give fresh insight to old issues and supportively hold you accountable as you navigate new territory. Having an understanding and compassionate witness to our pain more likely assures it is released for good. At the same time, having an independent observer chart our progress and acknowledge our successes along the way is an invaluable part of the process.
My method also incorporates a sense of humor and acceptance of oneself while engaging in the often serious work of self-realization. Based in Manhattan, I have an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Drawing upon my skills as a writer/performer/teacher, I combine my training as a Certified Radical Forgiveness Coach with meditative self inquiry practices and creative tools such as journaling, visualization, and music. Offering the ability to track patterns with focused clarity, I provide a safe space for clients to release entrenched emotions and recreate the story of their lives into a hero’s journey. The result is a powerful, and often irreverent, process of self-transformation.
Fees for my services are offered on a sliding scale according to your circumstances. If you have additional questions, and if you would like to schedule a session, please contact me at cheryl@cherylharnest.com.
